About us
About Author Sweets
Author Sweets is a writing studio that runs in your browser, made for people writing a book: a novel, a memoir, a nonfiction book, a workbook or a story told in pictures.
It keeps the whole book in one calm place, from the first plan to the finished file, so the tools you need are always beside the page and never in front of it.
What it is
One place for the whole book
You plan on an outline board with your characters, places and notes beside you, draft in a manuscript that saves as you type, online or off, and keep every version as you revise. When the book is ready to leave the desk, you share chapters with readers who need no account, and export Word, EPUB and PDF files for agents, stores and printers.
There is a free plan with one book and no time limit, and paid plans for more books, versions, import and the publishing exports. There is no AI inside, and your writing never trains one. The feature list has everything, and the pricing page says which plan has what.
Who it is for
Writers in the long middle of a book
First-time novelists and working authors, memoirists and nonfiction writers, and anyone sending a draft out to beta readers. Author Sweets is a studio for one author first, with the people you choose invited in to read.
- For novelistsA writing app for a novel: a story structure to start from, sprints and daily goals, characters beside the scenes, the book by point of view, a beta round and export in manuscript format.
- For memoir writersA writing app for a memoir: a then-and-now structure, the people and places of your life beside the scenes, read aloud, private by design, and shared with the family before it is published.
- For nonfiction authorsA writing app for a nonfiction book: chapters as an argument, tagged research notes beside the draft, import from Word, a target with a deadline, and export to Word, EPUB, PDF or Markdown.
- For writers with beta readersRun a beta round from the book itself: read-only links, reader codes, comments in the margin, three questions every reader answers, how far each one got, and the answers side by side.
